Since this administration ended the DACA program last fall, many young immigrants have seen their futures jeopardized—and leadership in Congress hasn't stepped up to protect them.
Republicans failed to bring up a vote on bipartisan legislation, and instead have picked political party over the lives of hundreds of thousands of DREAMers. Now they're considering bills that fail to provide a permanent fix for DREAMers and cater to the White House's anti-immigrant wish list—including allowing the administration to continue separating kids from their parents and prolonging detention of families.
Call a key representative now and tell them that families belong together and we need to protect DREAMers.
Thanks for stepping up to make your voice heard.
We're about to connect you to the office of a key representative who needs to hear from you. You'll likely end up speaking with a staff member, but that's just as important! Here's a suggestion for what you might want to say:
"Hi, I'm [YOUR NAME] from [YOUR HOMETOWN AND STATE].
I'm calling to ask you not to support the Republican's anti-immigrant bills because they will not protect DREAMers and do nothing to stop President Trump from continuing to separate children from their parents.
DACA protected hundreds of thousands of young immigrants who were brought here as children, allowing them to live, work, and go to school without the fear of being deported or separated from their families.
It is unacceptable that Congress hasn't done anything to help these young people and that they are considering bills that fail to protect DREAMers while catering to the White House's discriminatory demands.
I urge you to work with your colleagues across the aisle to pass a bipartisan solution that permanently addresses DACA and actually protects children, not one that destroys lives and divides families.
