Why Rich volunteers

"Until November 4th, 2008, I would have described myself as politically aware, but not politically active. But then Election Night happened. I'll never forget sitting at my desk in my dorm room, studying for an exam, when then-President-elect Obama's acceptance speech came on TV. I got goosebumps. I realized then that the Obama presidency could bring something new to our country, and had the potential to represent what America is all about.

"And it has.

"As soon as President Obama announced his plans to seek re-election, I knew I wanted to be a part of this campaign. I'm volunteering in 2012 because I've realized how important President Obama is to the future of our country. People talk about this election in terms of Democrats versus Republicans, but I think it's a choice between two visions for America, and the future we want for ourselves. I want to work hard every day for him, so he can keep working hard every day for me."
