Here's the truth about economic opportunity

We're seeing some encouraging progress in job creation and our growing economy.

But if more members of Congress would do their part—instead of, say, suing the President—we could be doing a lot more to build opportunity for working Americans. That's why we talk so much about raising the minimum wage, making college more affordable, and closing the pay gap between men and women.

This infographic helps put these issues into perspective—check it out and share it right now:

So many numbers are moving in the right direction: Job growth exceeded 200,000 for the sixth straight month this July, which marks the first time that's happened since 1997. Our economy has now added 9.9 million private sector jobs over 53 straight months of job growth, and last quarter our economy grew 4 percent.

It makes it hard to think about why some members of Congress don't seem interested in doing their part. That's why we put together this infographic.

Congress is home for August recess right now. It's so important that we make our voices heard in our own communities, to make sure when they're back in session next month, they know what's important to the people they represent.
