The High School Superstar

Nick S

Nick S. is not your average volunteer. He is only a junior in high school and has been working with Organizing for America since 2007, when he was only 12 years old. He’s now a Regional Field Organizer working in California to re-elect President Obama.

During the 2008 election cycle, Nick’s mom was an active volunteer organizer for then-Senator Obama’s campaign. One day, when his mom was out of the room, Nick picked up the phone and started to make phone calls by himself. His passion for politics was set in motion, and Nick hasn’t stopped organizing since.

While Nick was too young to vote in 2008, and is still too young to vote this November, he’s a shining example of the inclusiveness of Organizing for America. The time Nick spends organizing neighborhood teams will have an incredible impact on this election. His teams work every day to contact voters on behalf of President Obama’s grassroots campaign and Nick’s organizing will do much more than his single vote ever could.

When asked why he volunteers for the President every day, Nick enthusiastically answered:

“Because of my age, I stand to gain even more from President Obama’s policies. Thanks to Obamacare, my family has affordable health care options and I can stay on their insurance for the next nine years. Because the President increased investment in Pell Grants, rising college tuition costs won’t be as detrimental as they have been in the past. There is a lot at stake for teenagers this time around. Our opponents will move the United States backwards.”

Join Nick to help us move this country forward and re-elect President Obama, sign up to volunteer in your neighborhood today.
