The Campaign to Cut Waste

President Obama launched a new campaign to cut government waste yesterday, asking Vice President Joe Biden to lead an effort to hunt down misspent tax dollars in every government agency and department. “I know Joe's the right man to lead it," the President said, "Because nobody messes with Joe.”

On the Vice President's target list are empty government buildings, some of which have sat empty for a decade or more; several hundred unnecessary government websites, including a website for a forest ranger folk band; and daily shipments of two-inch-thick copies of the daily federal register to government offices, when you can get the exact same information online.
