Submit art, inspire action

Art has always played an important role in social change—movements are built around unifying symbols and creative calls to action. Right now, OFA is joining a project that allows folks to make their voices heard through their creativity. For anyone who cares about making immigration reform a reality, this is an excellent chance to get involved.

OFA volunteers in Binghamton, New York, put their artistic talents to work.

We're partnering up with the Creative Action Network to invite artists and designers to submit work inspired by the fight for comprehensive immigration reform. Every submission that meets the guidelines will be displayed in online galleries, making it possible for the creative person behind it to be paid for their contribution to the cause. A selection of works will be featured at gallery events across the country in December.

If you're looking for inspiration, here are a few themes to consider:

  • DREAMers: the undocumented youth who were brought to America through no fault of their own and know no other home

  • The promise of the American Dream

  • America is a nation of immigrants

  • Hope for the future
I know a lot of creative and passionate folks out there want to make immigration reform a reality. The right message and medium can speak to people in a way that nothing else can.

The Creative Action Network is a unique way to join this fight. Whether you contribute something here, make a phone call, knock on a door, organize an event—no matter what skill you have to offer, put it to use to help pass comprehensive immigration reform.

Give it a shot, or pass this along to someone you know who might want to take action and share their work.
