Story #38: “The President stands up for my interests"

To mark the Women for Obama canvasses that took place across the state today we have decided to share a story with you from a fantastic volunteer, who is proud to be a woman for Obama.

Susan was born here in New Hampshire and has lived in Manchester for 23 years. She does all she can to contribute to the campaign—making calls during the week and knocking on doors on the weekend. So, we caught up with her after a busy door-knocking session. Here’s why she’s in:

“The stakes in this election are high for all of us. I know that being involved here is the right thing to do. The greatest fear I have of a Romney administration is waking up one day to a non-existent middle class—a world in which the wealthy get wealthier and the poor get poorer, with the safety net being pulled from underneath their feet. Romney isn’t a President for you and I; he lacks perspective and is certainly not equipped with the skills to understand us."

“People often ask me why I spend my week nights making calls and my Saturdays knocking on doors. Well, it’s because the President has stood up for my interests and not shied away from difficult decisions. I want to wake up on November 7th knowing I’ve done all I can to help this campaign. President Obama has worked so hard for us. I don’t think I could live with myself if he were to lose and I knew that deep down I could have given more.”

If you still have time to give, give it now.
