Sandwiches for Obama

When Juliet and Mary of Ann Arbor volunteered for President Obama in 2008, their kids wanted to help, too. Even though they were just seven and five years old at the time, the kids came up with the perfect job.

“Every weekend they would make 200 sandwiches in an assembly line. We’d put them in shoeboxes and deliver them to volunteers all around town. The volunteers treated them like celebrities — and the kids understand they were helping in the way they could.”

The children delivered more than sandwiches. They wrote messages on every single sandwich bag, such as “Your hard work will pay off.” They're planning on doing it again this year.

There’s a job for everyone in this campaign. Sign up to volunteer. Chances are, you might even get a sandwich.
