Story #36: “The Romney-Ryan Tax Hike could be the difference between paying the mortgage or not.”

Amy Bradley

Amy Bradley is a mom from Manchester. She just finished grad school last year, and her story is one that a lot of can relate to, and that's why we're sharing it today. Amy and her husband Todd have worked hard to get where they are and to make sure their two daughters, Ava and Izzy, start off on the best possible footing.

Amy knows that President Obama has her family’s back:

“My husband and I both work hard, but sometimes it isn’t easy to make ends meet. I have student loans to pay. It seems like the girls always need new clothes because they’re growing out of the old ones. Plus, we’ve got the mortgage to pay down—and it’s never too early to start saving for college."

"I always knew that President Obama’s tax cuts have helped our family get by, but for a long time, I didn’t realize by just how much. I recently heard about a tax calculator that crunches the numbers for you. You have to check it out. I went on there and found out that so far, President Obama has helped us save about $4,000 on our taxes, and that his plan would help us save another $2,000 next year. That’s been a huge help for us, and I know it’ll keep helping middle-class families like mine."

"We’re in a good place right now, but if Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan get elected, it’ll get a lot harder. The calculator showed us that their plan would make families like mine pay an average of $2,000 more in taxes next year – and that’s just so millionaires like Romney can pay less. My family can’t afford that. For us, the Romney-Ryan Tax Hike could be the difference between paying the mortgage or not.”

There is just too much at stake for families this November, from health care to the cost of living. Everyone needs to share with their friends, family and co-workers the choice they face this fall. Commit to vote right now–and then let your friends know about your commitment on Facebook.
