Retired Teacher Rewarded by Fall Fellowship Experience

There are times in life when one finds themself lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. In those moments we have a choice to, say yes to an opportunity, or to walk away and close our minds to new growth. Fortunately I said, yes, when opportunity came knocking!

As a newly retired special needs teacher, I found myself with time to devote to helping re-elect President Obama. I still believe in him! I believe in a values centered America; an America where my children and grandchildren are treated fairly, where all people are judged by their character and not the color of their skin, or by how much money they make. I believe in an America that cares about making sure the greater good of the elderly, poor, sick, retired, handicapped, marginalized, middle class, and the rich take appropriate responsibility for paying their fair share for the services needed for living a good life.

I joined Organizing for America because President Obama’s values match mine! I have had an amazing time learning how the campaign works. I met David Axelrod! I was able to be the national conference calls with First Lady Michelle Obama and the President himself!

In addition, I have met wonderful fellow Democrats in Chandler. To meet likeminded people and be able to discuss our shared political concerns has been rewarding. As the Fall Fellowship program transitions to the Spring Fellows I want to highly encourage folks to sign up! Say yes, to the terrific opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself! Help re-elect President Obama! Sign up for a Spring Fellowship!
