Report from Las Cruces: We Remember.

If this were a different type of campaign, it might be easy to forget the stories of regular New Mexicans. We could just run slick TV ads – like Karl Rove and so many other outside groups are already doing – and forget about the important work of engaging our neighbors in the fight for progress for America.

But that’s not what we’re about. As a Las-Cruces-based field organizer for this campaign, I have a rock-solid commitment to making sure that your voices are heard.

Case in point: Last week, a gentleman asked if we could go to his house to register him to vote.

Since he was very close I went by. It turns out that he was blind and could not leave his home. He was very appreciative and was extremely happy he is now able to vote.

This man didn't forget the importance of voting, and we didn't forget the importance of making sure he could.

That’s the kind of campaign that we’re running, and I’m proud every day to be a part of it.
