"This is great"

Over the past few weeks, we've highlighted some of the many letters to the editor of local publications in support of the Affordable Care Act—and they haven't stopped rolling in. Here's a look at three more, highlighting the new marketplace and the benefits of the new law.

State should be proud of health care exchange
"A variety of people are signing up, including young people and others who had little or no insurance. A number of good plans are offered, a good number of vendors are involved, and individuals, small businesses and other professionals are getting needed information. An online calculator helps consumers know what subsidies and tax credits are available, and what their net monthly premium will be. ... We need to focus now on the positive provisions of the ACA that will benefit millions of citizens when enrollment processes are successfully executed as they have been in this area and throughout our stand-out state." —Alfred Tottey, Utica Observer-Dispatch. Clinton, New York.

Hooray for Obamacare
"I just signed up for Obamacare with one of the providers listed for Pennsylvania. It was quick, easy, and four-sevenths the cost of the health care I have now—with more benefits! This is great." —Ginny Gibble, LancasterOnline. Lancaster Township, Pennsylvania.

Letter: Affordable Care Act
"In the Health Insurance Marketplace under the Affordable Care Act, practices such as 'gender rating' will be prohibited as well as denial of insurance based on pre-existing conditions. The Affordable Care Act when fully implemented will offer women and their children access to the medical care they deserve." —Bee Mayo MA MPH, New Bern Sun Journal. New Bern, North Carolina.
