No place for hate

Neo-Nazis and white supremacists descended on Charlottesville this weekend to push their vile message of bigotry and hate. Their violence left many injured, and one woman dead.

The administration refused to immediately condemn these groups by name—and didn't until public pressure grew over days—but many of you stood up immediately and let it be known that you will not stand for white supremacy in America.

Tens of thousands of Americans came together at vigils around the country. Within hours, you made your beliefs known on Facebook and Twitter, and committed to calling out hate in all its forms wherever you encounter it, and I want to thank you for that.

Unfortunately, the kind of bigotry we saw this weekend is not new in our country, but it's as important as ever to stand together in solidarity and reject this ugly ideology.

Thank you for using your voice, and remember to always respect, empower, and include one another.
