Nevadans hit the streets to register voters

Braving scorching 103° degrees in Las Vegas and toasty 81° in Reno, our summer organizers, community organizers, and volunteers hit the streets to register voters. Volunteers eagerly registered hundreds of Nevadans all across the state—at DMV’s, local coffee shops, restaurants, and Juneteenth festivals—all to ensure they have a voice in the 2012 elections.

At Los Compadres Meat Market, 5 year old volunteer Rafael Z., helped attract a crowd by kindly shouting “come register to vote,” with an adorable, toothless grin. Once a voter would approach him, his older brother, Summer Organizer Rudy Z., would swoop in to register the individual.

All in all it was a great day. Our volunteers had fun while preforming a critically important function – registering Nevadans to vote.

Thank you to the outstanding volunteers who braved the heat to participate in our National Day of Action. If you weren't able to participate, you can catch us for a phonebank Monday through Thursday at 5PM at our offices: 2475 S. Jones Bvld, Suite 7, Las Vegas, NV 89151 or 1465 Terminal Way, Suite 1, Reno, NV 89502.
