Progress in Minnesota

We’re crisscrossing the state on the Minnesota Made tour, highlighting the importance of manufacturing to Minnesota and President Obama’s record of success in supporting for middle class workers.

On our tour, we’ve been talking about President Obama belief that the key to an economy built to last is a strong and growing middle class. America prospers when hard work pays off, responsibility is rewarded, and everyone plays by the same rules.

Thanks to President Obama’s leadership, we’ve seen progress in communities across Minnesota:

  • The Minnesota manufacturing sector added 16,700 jobs since March 2010, and U.S. manufacturing is adding jobs for the first time since the 1990s.
  • Every working family in Minnesota got a tax cut, with the typical family getting $3,791.
  • The auto industry rescue saved over 10,000 jobs in Minnesota, and the industry has since added 230,000 jobs across the country.
  • Small businesses are an engine of a growing economy, so President Obama signed 18 different tax cuts benefiting Minnesota small businesses.

All of these accomplishments add up to a record of progress in Minnesota thanks to President Obama’s leadership.

We can’t just cut our way to prosperity, and we can’t go back to the same failed policies of the past that caused the economic crisis and devastated working and middle-class families.

There’s too much at stake to turn back now.
