Kathleen A. of South Lyon attended an office opening with one sole purpose: ensuring a better future for her grandson. “My son and daughter-in-law waited years to have a child because of student loan debt and a lack of steady, local long-term employment.” Kathleen was excited to make phone calls and she hopes to organize other grandmothers in her community to volunteer.
With only one year left until Election Day 2012, regional offices all across the Mitten Sunday opened their doors to kick off a year of knocking on doors, making phone calls and bringing communities together in support of President Obama.
Our Fall Fellows and team leaders in Ann Arbor worked tirelessly to gather volunteer sign-ups and lead phone banks in support of the American Jobs Act with more than 100 attendees. Congressman John Dingell came out to support the President and fire up the crowd. “Much is at stake….we’re going to be out there to work, and work hard. We can’t do this without you.”
Are you fired up and ready to go? Michigan needs you more than ever. If you couldn’t make it out to one of our events yesterday, sign up to volunteer today.
