Organizers met up with seven new supporters in their community this week and had one-to-one conversations about the issues affecting their neighborhoods, and how each person could find a role in the campaign made for them. Several new volunteers didn’t waste any time – they sprang into action building a grassroots team in the area. Right after the meeting, they started putting plans in motion for a weekly phonebank and an open house meeting for the community. Rosa K. said she and her fellow teammates got the ball rolling because “I’m ready to get to work now!” She is especially excited to get young people in the community engaged in the campaign as well.
Welcome to the campaign, Team Emporia!
