You might not know it to look at him, but Kevin is one of our (not so) secret weapons in this campaign. He's one of our top grassroots fundraisers, having inspired over 50 people to give through match fundraising efforts like the campaign that's running right now.
“Match fundraising is kinda cool," Kevin says. "It's a great way to bring in new people. Even if you can only donate a small amount, and that's all a lot of people have, you’re still part of the campaign. And with match you can double the difference your money will have.”
Back in 2008, then-candidate Obama inspired Kevin to get involved in politics again—the last time he’d knocked on doors for a candidate was back in his student days. Since then he's knocked on hundreds of doors and made thousands of phone calls.
“Barack Obama had an energy that the other candidates just didn’t have. He wasn’t afraid to address issues straight on. I thought he had tremendous courage—courage that he’s gone on to show as President.”
And there’s nothing stopping Kevin for 2012:
“We have to show that we’re the hardest-working team getting Americans back to work. When I’m knocking on doors and calling voters, the number one issue is jobs and the economy.
“And from day one that’s what the President has been focused on. There’s still a lot to be done and President Obama is the guy to do it.”
