Letter of the week—June 25th, 2012

I am contacting your campaign, Mr. President, because I am a 34-year-old electrician who lost my job and had my hope restored thanks to a piece of legislation passed by you. I am referring to the Recovery Act of 2009, which provided me the start of a journey that still has not reached its end, giving me another chance to go to college. In my 30s, I was ready to change my life and succeeded at state college, where I raised my GPA from 1.75 all the way to 3.65 and graduated with honors. Now, I attend one of the top universities in the world, the University of Michigan, and I have you to thank, President Obama, for giving me a chance to change my life for the better.
