Getting ready to get out the vote on Election Day

Hundreds of volunteers from across Michigan gathered with OFA Michigan staff for the GOTV Neighborhood Team Convention, where they learned everything they need to know to get out the vote on Election Day.

Presenters shared best practices for being superstar organizers, so volunteers are prepared to do what it takes to win Michigan for Barack Obama on November 6. Londell, a regional field director in Macomb County, left no doubt about the importance of getting involved.

"It's win or lose. Either you're in or you're out. You did or didn't."

Kate, a volunteer from Ann Arbor, was there to sharpen her skills because she knows first-hand what's at stake on Nov. 6.

"Our daughter, who has a Pell Grant, is able to be on our health insurance because of Obamacare. This is an incredibly important election because change is happening."

Trish has always kept her voting choices private — until now.

"This year, I decided it was time for me to stand up and be counted."

One of the many volunteers who has signed up for a leadership role on Election Day is Brian of Dearborn.

"Volunteering is the least I can do to repay President Obama for all that he's done to improve my life."

If you want to stand up for Barack Obama, sign up for a shift to help get out the vote between now and Election Day. Every vote makes a difference.
