From the Arizona Field Director's Desk

Our whole office is different now. It’s full of energy and enthusiasm. It’s also full of volunteers.

What’s different? Fall Fellows. Arizona is taking big leaps forward in organizing. Our Fall Fellows are spread across Flagstaff, Phoenix, and Tucson to register voters, recruit volunteers, and build neighborhood teams. It was slow here in the month of August. Our summer organizer program shut down and we hunkered down in the office to plan and strategize for the fall. But now we have dozens of Fellows organizing in the Phoenix office and across this great state.

Gabby B. brings a lot of enthusiasm to the table. She’s a recent college graduate that was inspired by her parents’ volunteerism to get involved and organize her community for the President. Heather B. is also energetic. She’s a realtor hit hard by the economy in Phoenix and she’s making the effort to change her community for the better by being a Fall Fellow. Chris G. is a part-time sports reporter, who in his spare time is organizing Arizona State University for President Obama. What a crew here in Arizona.

I couldn’t be more excited to be working with this team. It’s a pleasure to come to work every day. And when the same-old politics in Washington D.C. gets us down, I just go out of my office and sit with our Fellows and volunteers and listen to the buzz of volunteer recruitment calls being made for President Obama. It’s a wonderful sound. Want to learn more about what’s going on in Arizona? Click here.
