Meet Yesenia: Jacksonville neighborhood team leader

Yesenia a President Obama supporter in Jacksonville

A mail carrier and mother of two, Yesenia does whatever she can to secure a brighter future for her two sons. That's why she became a volunteer neighborhood team leader in Jacksonville.

I didn't want to sit on the sidelines anymore. I live in an area that is mostly red, but I’m proud to be a Democrat. I’m proud to support the President. I’m a mother of two small children and President Obama has the plan for an America that I want for them.

As a neighborhood team leader and Hispanic American, Yesenia knows how important it is for her friends and family to have their voices heard this November.

The Hispanic community wants to have the American dream. We want to own homes, get a good education, and find a steady job. All we want is the opportunity to achieve these things. That’s why I’m a big supporter of President Obama and his leadership.

Yesenia says we can't wait until November though. She wants more supporters to take the next step and get active by volunteering in their community.

Go for it. Believe and know that you’re doing the right thing and that you're helping people. You never know, you might inspire someone to become the next fired up neighborhood team leader where they live.

My sons love that I work for the President. Every day before I leave they say 'Bye mommy, have fun working for the President!'

I'm doing this for them.

Follow Yesenia's lead and sign up to join volunteers where you live today.
