Fired up and ready to go in Rocky Mount

"Fired up! Ready to Go!"

Even before Congressman G.K Butterfield cut the ribbon to officially open our newest North Carolina office in Rocky Mount, the standing room only crowd made it clear that the enthusiasm from the 2008 election was alive and well in 2012.

"Fired up! Ready to go!"

They sang intermittently, mingling with old friends and making new ones in the modest brick office located at 2509 Sunset avenue.

After cutting the ribbon and opening the doors, Congressman Butterfield addressed the enthusiastic crowd, talking about the importance of the 2012 election to continuing progress in Rocky Mount. In his talk, Congressman Butterfield spoke about the President's many first-term achievements, especially highlighting his leadership during the economic crisis he inherited and the positive effects that leadership has had in the Rocky Mt. community.

After a rousing call to action by OFA-NC Northeastern Regional Field Director Garrison McMurtery, attendees lined up to sign on for volunteer shifts and to represent Rocky Mount in the big statewide day of action next Saturday.

If it were possible to describe the sentiment behind Thursday with just a single word, it may be as easy as reading a sign that hangs above one of the office doors. The sign says simply, in no uncertain terms, win.
