Q1. What does a day at work look like for you?

I always begin my day with an hour of planning, and reviewing the previous day’s activities and notable events over a cup of coffee at the local coffee shop. I then make my way over to our newly opened office and follow up on emails, update my fall fellows and core volunteers on the day ahead, and make moves on our next event, phone bank, or house party. Once 4:00 p.m. rolls around, it's “sacred call time”—which means I make team recruitment calls with my fall fellows and volunteers. At the end of the day, my main objective is to build a strong team here in Iowa.

Q2. How did you first come to the campaign?

During this past winter (my fall semester of junior year of college) I was fortunate enough to be hired as an intern at the White House, where I worked on the National Economic Council. When it came time to decide whether or not to take the summer off and go back to school or join the campaign, I decided I had to continue my work for President Obama.

A few weeks later I was interning in the Chicago HQ, working on Midwest battleground states. I realized working with the voters is the most important part of our work as a campaign. In August, I moved to Iowa to begin my tour of duty as a field organizer.

Q3. What's your favorite part of your job?

The best part of my job is the ability to organize coalitions of like-minded citizens to action for a common cause: re-electing President Obama. I have met some incredible people and learn new things every day.

Q4. What is the most unexpected part of your job?

The opportunity to develop my own unique organizing style.

I was one of the Easter bunnies at the White House Easter Egg Roll.
