What we mean when we say "affordable" health care

Over the weekend, I was shocked to find out that nearly 7 out of 10 people don't know that financial assistance is available for health insurance via the new health insurance marketplace. Not only is financial assistance available, but it's available to about 6 in 10 uninsured Americans—are you one of them?

In less than a minute, you can see how much you might save by using this handy calculator. By plugging in some basic information, this calculator will help estimate how much health insurance will cost you on the new marketplace.

That's important information for anybody who needs to enroll—especially since Wednesday, January 15th, is the last day for folks to sign up for health insurance if they want to be covered on February 1st. Check out the calculator, and pass it along to anybody who might need to see it before the deadline.

Millions of Americans have gotten health insurance coverage thanks to the new law—many for the first time. But there are still millions of people in need of health insurance coverage, and it's up to every one of us to make sure that they have everything they need to get enrolled.

It takes insurance companies a week or two to process new applicants and set up coverage, so compare plans and enroll by midnight on January 15th to be covered on February 1st.

Tell your friends: Check out the health care cost calculator, and get covered.
