A Surprise Visit

For Janet from Walkertown, North Carolina, yesterday’s neighborhood team meeting in Winston-Salem started off like any other. Running late since she was out registering voters at a bus stop, Janet made it to the office to hear Regional Field Director Punya firing up her fellow volunteers.

After the group shared the highlights from their recent voter registration events, a surprise guest entered the team meeting—Vice President Joe Biden. The Vice President met with team members and talked with them about the importance of the work they are doing in their neighborhoods and across North Carolina. Vice President Biden knows that North Carolina is key to victory in November, and he shared his appreciation for the hours that our volunteers put in knocking on doors, registering voters, and talking to their neighbors.

The Vice President’s visit came at the perfect time to fire up our volunteers as they prepare for this weekend’s Yes! Weekend of Action. For Janet, who is setting up a voter registration drive at a local shopping center this weekend, hearing from the Vice President was the perfect inspiration for all the hard work she is doing out in her neighborhood and across North Carolina.

"I love volunteering and am so thrilled to be able to contribute my time to such an important cause, it's a real joy, and hearing from Vice President Biden about how important our efforts are to the campaign is really uplifting!"

Janet is going to be apart of the Yes! Weekend of Action. Are you? Find an event in your neighborhood.
