When Democrats Get Together

This May, South Carolina Democrats gathered to not only celebrate the Democratic Party, but also to get motivated and energized about re-electing President Obama. The South Carolina Democratic Party (SCDP) hosted its annual Jefferson Jackson Dinner with Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts as keynote speaker on Friday May 11th, and the celebration continued at the 20th annual fish fry hosted by Rep. Jim Clyburn. At both events, there were supporters and staff of President Obama signing up volunteers for phonebanks and voter registration drives for South Carolina and bordering battle-ground state North Carolina.

On Saturday May 12th, the SCDP held its State Convention where Obama supporters campaigned and voted for delegates to represent the state in Charlotte, NC at the Democratic National Convention. Steve Kerrigan, CEO-Democratic National Convention provided words to help keep us ‘fired up and ready to go’ to work for President Obama and the Democratic Party.
